Pipì, Pupù and Rosmary still can’t find Mapà, and so they decide to enter the world of shadows thinking that if they can find Mapà’s, it will lead them to him. After having paid the entrance fee of a carot each to the rabbit who guards the gate, our three friends descend into the netherworld. After they’ve been startled by the shadow of a huge bird and that of a lion, they lose their own shadows which flee because they’re so scared. So Pipì, Pupù and Rosmary set out on a search for them, helped by the shadows of a giraffe, a little elephant and a little monkey. The search proves difficult, however, and at a certain point they are attacked by a flight of large shadow birds which create an artificial night and are thus capable to forever banish the shadows that cross their paths. This makes the three shadows that were lending a hand to our three little friends flee, which in turns causes Pipì, Pupù and Rosmary to up the tempo of their search. Fortunately, at the end the same shadows return from their owners which are still being chased by the flight of shadow birds, and they manage to escape safe and sound but not before they have had to pay the rabbit guard the exit ticket in carrots.
