Cold and soaked, the animals seek shelter in a barn. While they sleep, the farmer shoots Mrs Pheasant and locks the barn door. Mole digs a tunnel under the floor planks as a way to freedom, but Fox must return to take on the bloodthirsty farm dog. When they finally reach a safe thicket, the animals notice that Natter has stayed behind.
