The teacher introduces the new classmate. Nobody takes any notice. But surprise, the boy has an elephant's head! The whispering starts immediately, doodles are scribbled, nobody wants to sit next to the new kid. Only one of the pupils seems to be fascinated by the elephant child. They play together in the schoolyard and discover they have things in common. Will the mockery of the others separate them again? A sensitively told story, full of poetry, tenderness and understanding - but at the same time also very sad, even upsetting. A child who is ‘different’ meets a child who is also different: a quiet, gentle outsider without malice, but rather full of affection and empathy. But the two's quiet moments of happiness turn out to be a beautiful dream that fails in the face of reality. Artfully designed, the short film is an aesthetic masterpiece. In an everyday school world outlined in black strokes, the new boy stands out not only because he is an elephant: he is also outlined in blue, while his new friend is in red. Unfortunately, he doesn't stay red: if you want to be part of the group, you have to adapt, even in terms of colour...
