Nature, Germany 2011

Not available in your country
On the Baltic Sea lies one of Germany's most beautiful natural landscapes with its famous landmarks: The chalk cliffs of Rügen rise almost 120 metres into the sky and provide protected breeding grounds for the rare peregrine falcons. Badgers and fallow deer raise their young in the beech forests of Jasmund on the edge of the white cliffs. The Bodden on the Fischland-Darss-Zingst peninsula are only connected to the Baltic Sea by narrow straits. With their turquoise waters, they resemble Caribbean lagoons and provide nesting and resting places for a variety of birds.
